Rekunoff Dojo is more than a martial arts school. It represents 43 years of martial arts experience, 32 years of teaching, and a lifetime dedicated to Full-Contact Karate.
Classes at Rekunoff Dojo are personally taught by Hanshi Andrew Rekunoff, 8th Dan—an internationally recognized martial arts master and instructor with more than four decades of experience.
Throughout his 32-year teaching career, Hanshi Andrew Rekunoff has trained thousands of students, including World and European champions and medalists, as well as hundreds of national and regional tournament winners.
However, medals and trophies have never been considered the true measure of success at Rekunoff Dojo.
The school’s philosophy is built on one simple principle:
A teacher’s greatest achievement is not the number of champions he has trained, but the kind of people his students become.

At Rekunoff Dojo, karate is viewed as something far greater than a competitive sport.
It is a path toward developing the body, spirit, character, self-confidence, and the ability to protect yourself and others.
Every person enters the dojo with a different goal. Some dream of competing and earning championship titles. Others want to learn practical self-defense, improve their physical fitness, develop discipline, or simply become stronger and more confident.
The purpose of the training process is to help every student discover and develop their full potential.
Students learn Full-Contact SoKarate, practical self-defense, effective fighting techniques, physical conditioning, discipline, courage, and self-confidence.
At the same time, equal importance is placed on respect, honesty, responsibility, and kindness.
At Rekunoff Dojo, we believe that strength without character has very little value.
A black belt means very little if it is worn by a person of poor character.
A SPECIAL APPROACH TO TEACHING CHILDREN
Teaching children has always held a special place in Hanshi Andrew Rekunoff’s career.
Children bring sincerity, energy, curiosity, and tremendous trust in their teacher into the dojo. For an instructor, this is both a unique opportunity and an enormous responsibility.
Every child begins their journey from a different starting point.
Some arrive confident and physically prepared. Others may be shy, physically weak, inexperienced, afraid of confrontation, or simply unsure of their own abilities.
The purpose of training is not merely to teach a child how to strike correctly or win competitions.
The primary goal is to help each child gradually become a strong, confident, disciplined, respectful, and positive young person.
Training is serious and structured, while maintaining a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Children learn to work hard, overcome challenges, build friendships, take pride in their accomplishments, and look forward to returning to the dojo.
Throughout more than 30 years of teaching, thousands of parents have expressed their gratitude after seeing the positive changes martial arts training brought to their children’s lives.
That trust remains one of Rekunoff Dojo’s greatest honors—and one of its greatest responsibilities.

PERSONAL INSTRUCTION
Hanshi Andrew Rekunoff is the President of the World SoKarate Federation and the World Full-Contact Karate Federation.
Under his leadership, the international organization continues to develop branches and official representatives in 31 countries around the world.
In 2022, by decision of the General Assembly and the Executive Board of the World SoKarate Federation, Andrew Rekunoff was awarded the master rank of 8th Dan and the title of Hanshi—one of the highest and most respected titles in martial arts.
This rank represents not only recognition of his many years of experience, but also a profound responsibility: to preserve martial arts traditions, educate new generations of students and instructors, and pass his accumulated knowledge on to others.

Каждый человек приходит в додзё со своей целью. Кто-то мечтает о соревнованиях и чемпионских титулах. Кто-то хочет освоить практическую самооборону, улучшить физическую форму, развить дисциплину или просто стать сильнее и увереннее в себе.
Задача тренировочного процесса — помочь каждому ученику раскрыть и развить собственный потенциал.
Ученики осваивают Фулл-Контакт СоКарате, практическую самооборону, эффективную технику, физическую подготовку, дисциплину, смелость и уверенность в себе.
При этом не меньшее значение уделяется уважению, честности, ответственности и доброте.
В Rekunoff Dojo убеждены: сила без характера имеет очень небольшую ценность.
Чёрный пояс значит очень мало, если его носит плохой человек.
ОСОБЫЙ ПОДХОД К РАБОТЕ С ДЕТЬМИ
Работа с детьми всегда занимала особое место в преподавательской деятельности Ханши Андрея Рекунова.
Дети приносят в Додзё искренность, энергию, любознательность и огромное доверие к своему Учителю. Для инструктора это одновременно уникальная возможность и огромная ответственность.
Каждый ребёнок начинает свой путь с разной отправной точки.
Кто-то приходит уверенным и физически подготовленным. Другой может быть застенчивым, слабым, неопытным, боящимся конфликтов или просто не верящим в собственные силы.
Цель занятий заключается не просто в том, чтобы научить ребёнка правильно наносить удары или побеждать на соревнованиях.
Главная задача — помочь ему постепенно стать сильным, уверенным в себе, дисциплинированным, порядочным и позитивным молодым человеком.
Тренировки проходят серьёзно, но в позитивной и дружелюбной атмосфере. Дети учатся работать, преодолевать трудности, дружить, радоваться собственным достижениям и с удовольствием возвращаться в Додзё.
За более чем 30 лет преподавания тысячи родителей выражали благодарность, наблюдая положительные изменения, которые занятия боевыми искусствами приносили в жизнь их детей.
Это доверие остаётся одной из самых больших ценностей и одновременно одной из самых серьёзных ответственностей Rekunoff Dojo.

Ханши Андрей Рекунов является президентом World SoKarate Federation — Всемирной Федерации SoKarate, а также World Full Contact Karate Federation.
Под его руководством международная организация развивает филиалы и представительства в 31 стране мира.
В 2022 году решением Общего собрания и Правления Всемирной Федерации СоКарате Андрею Рекунову была присвоена мастерская степень 8-й Дан и титул Ханши — одна из высочайших степеней мастерства в боевых искусствах.
Эта степень является не только признанием многолетнего опыта, но и большой ответственностью — сохранять традиции боевых искусств, воспитывать новые поколения учеников и инструкторов и передавать накопленные знания дальше.
